about us
Where is Adventure Wagon based?
We’re proudly based in Portland, Oregon—our install shop, warehouse, and showroom are all in one place.
Why choose Adventure Wagon over a custom builder?
Speed, quality, and flexibility. Our modular platform gives you a pro-level van interior without a 6–12 month custom wait or the price tag—and you can install it yourself or hire one of our certified pros. Plus, our support doesn’t stop after delivery.
How long has Adventure Wagon been around?
Since 2014, we’ve been perfecting modular van interiors built to go the distance. With thousands of kits on the road and a community of passionate van lifers, we’re proud to be the trusted choice for those who want lasting quality and adventure-ready design.
Can I see an Adventure Wagon in person?
Yes—we’re at expos throughout the year and offer visits by appointment at our Portland HQ. Check our event calendar or call/email us to book a tour.
vehicle compatibility
What vans are compatible with the Adventure Wagon modular system?
Our van interior kits are designed for:
- Mercedes Sprinter (2007–Present, 144" & 170", High Roof, Cargo or Crew)
- Ford Transit (2015–Present, Long or Extended, High Roof, Cargo)
Van Specs that may affect compatibility—reach out if your van has any of the following, and we’ll help you explore options.
- All around windows
- Rooftop A/C
- Transit rear Air Conditioning
- Transit Power Sliding door
- Permanent aftermarket additions in the cargo area
Can I use your kit in a used van?
Absolutely. Our modular interior systems are designed for both new and used vans. Just make sure your Sprinter or Transit model meets our high-roof requirements and doesn't have any interior additions that may interfere with the installation of the interior system.
Will your kit work if my van already has partial insulation or trim?
Because our A-frame mounts directly to the van’s structural ribs using rivnuts and rivets, most paneling and insulation will need to be removed before beginning a full interior install. This ensures a precise fit for both the A-frame and panels, prevents interference from trim, and avoids metal shavings getting trapped in insulation—an issue that can lead to rust over time. By starting with a clean foundation, we guarantee a stronger, longer-lasting build and a finish that performs exactly as designed. If your van has components installed give our team a call and we can help identiy what needs to be removed and what may be ok to stay in place for an installation.

What’s the A-frame, and why does it matter?
The A-frame is the steel skeleton that anchors your entire interior. It gives structure to your walls and ceiling by creating reinforcement and weight distribution throughout the van. It serves as the foundation for everything from the bed to gear storage. It’s why our van conversions are so strong and feel solid, quiet, and road-ready.
What comes with your modular interior conversion kit?
Everything you need to transform a bare shell into a flexible, finished space:
- Steel A-frame structure
- L-track mounting system
- Hushmat and Pre-cut insulation
- Pre-wired 12V electrical harness
- Wall + ceiling panels and custom molded trim
- Roof vent fan
- All hardware, templates, and guides
Whether you’re building a family van, gear hauler, or weekend camper, it’s the ultimate modular foundation.

What are your panels made of?
Our flat panels are made with a marine grade 1/4" Baltic Birch Plywood. You also have the option to upgrade any flat panel to a beautiful finished bamboo.
installation & services
Do you offer installation for your modular interior kits?
Yes! You’ve got three flexible options to match your build style:
1. Factory Install – Our team installs your full Adventure Wagon system at our Portland, OR HQ.
2. Certified Installer Network – We’ve partnered with expert upfitters across the U.S. who know our camper van conversion kits inside and out. They are also an amazing resource to add custom additions to your Adventure Wagon build.
3. DIY Van Install – Prefer to do it yourself? Thousands of customers have successfully built out their vans using our detailed instructions, labeled parts, and tech support.
How long does a van build install take?
Factory installs: Our factory installs are 2 weeks long - drop off on a Friday and pick up two Fridays later. Reach out to secure the next available slot!
Certified installers: Timeframes vary based on installer and your specific build.
DIY: Most builders complete the full system in two to three weeks with the help of our step by step online videos and customer success team who is here to help every step of the way
(DIY) Do I need any special tools to install the kit myself?
The Adventure Wagon DIY Kit is designed to be simple and approachable, using basic tools most people already have on hand—like a drill, impact driver, screwdrivers, tape measure etc. The only exceptions are a rivnut setter and rivet setter, which aren’t always found in every toolbox. Don’t worry though—we’ll guide you on the right tools to choose and how to use them, or you can take advantage of our partial install option. Our factory team can handle the A-frame and hole cutting for you, so you can jump in and finish the rest—no specialty tools required. Every interior kit includes all the necessary hardware plus step-by-step video instructions to make the process smooth and straightforward.
shipping
Do you ship your camper van components internationally?
We ship Mule Bags internationally. Other products are currently limited to U.S. shipping only. If you're outside the U.S., we recommend working with a freight forwarding service to help coordinate your shipment.
How are interior kits delivered?
Interior systems ship via freight on a custom pallet with all parts labeled and protected. You’ll get tracking and delivery scheduling details as soon as it leaves our warehouse.
gear, bags, & add ons
Can I install Mule Bags without a full Adventure Wagon system?
Yes! You’ll just need ceiling or wall-mounted L-track (or some other attachement but the bags will come with L-track hardware), and we recommend adding reinforcement behind the track to make sure your Mule Bags are ready to handle whatever gear you load them up with. For the best setup, check out the Mule Bag product page—you’ll find a diagram showing the recommended L-track mounting locations on both the ceiling and wall to line up perfectly with the bag’s attachment points.
Can I buy individual components instead of the full kit?
We work hard to create the best interior systems we can for every adventure - and our system is designed to shine as a whole package. Since the A-frame, track, and panels are built to work together seamlessly, we don’t offer any pieces of the base system individually. But the fun doesn’t stop there—you can trick out your build with awesome individual add-ons from our Gear Shop, like the MOAB Bed, Mule Bags, and Goat Wheel Well Lockers!
Do your accessories work outside the Adventure Wagon platform?
Absolutely! You’ll just want to make sure the mounting placement and reinforcement are compatible with your setup. Our team is happy to help—give us a call and we can confirm if the accessory will work perfectly in your build.
