DIY TUTORIAL:
TRANSIT HR EXT
This guide is for installing the entire Adventure Wagon Interior kit in a 2015-present Transit high-roof, Extended van.
Any additional written build notes below will be the most up-to-date instructions and the video should be used as a baseline.
Installation Tips
Installation can be done over four to six days but can vary significantly based on skill and experience. It helps to have two people for A-frame bracing, track and panel installation.

Step 2
Ceiling Fan Installation
Install a ceiling fan in your Ford Transit HR Extended, including locating and cutting the roof opening, preparing and sealing the mounting surface, and securing the fan in place.
Step 3
A-Frame Wall Bracer Installation
Install the Adventure Wagon A-Frame Wall Bracer system in a Ford Transit HR Extended, including positioning the bracers, drilling mounting points, setting Rivnuts, and securing the wall structure for L-track and panels.
We have modified how the wall bracers get installed. Please see our additional notes:
- If your ceiling braces (ribs) are not aligned with our centering tool, refer to the video guide below for how to measure and center your ceiling Speed Struts yourself.
- We are no longer using magnets to align the wall bracers. Instead, we use set screws included with your kit.
- If you've used self-tapping set screws to temporarily hold the wall track in place, please remove them once the track is fastened to ensure the L-Track lays flat against the wall bracer.
- Be careful when drilling vertical wall bracer holes that you do not accidentally clip the wiring harness. To avoid this, you can temporarily pull out the electrical harness.
- Do not install your upper wall Thinsulate insulation until after your wiring chase is installed to avoid leaving shavings in the insulation.
Step 4
Ceiling Bracer Installation
Install the Adventure Wagon A-Frame Ceiling Bracer system in a Ford Transit HR Extended, including positioning the ceiling bracers and Speed Struts, drilling mounting points, and securing the structure for L-track and ceiling panels.

Step 5
Cab Wiring Harness
Install and route the Adventure Wagon wiring harness throughout a Ford Transit HR Extended, including the driver- and passenger-side harnesses, outlet drops, and wiring for interior electrical components.
Step 6
Electrical Connections
Complete the electrical connections for the Adventure Wagon Interior System in a Ford Transit HR Extended, including grounds, fuse block connections, main power wiring, fuses, and ceiling fan power.
Step 7
Hushmat Install
Install HushMat sound-deadening material throughout a Ford Transit HR Extended, including the walls and body panels, while protecting and securing wiring throughout the van.
Step 8
Insulation Install
Install insulation throughout a Ford Transit HR Extended, including the lower, mid, and upper wall bays, ceiling, and hard-to-reach cavities using the Adventure Wagon insulation kit.Track & Panel
Step 9
Track & Panel Installation
Install the L-track, wall and ceiling panels, outlets, and interior trim in a Ford Transit HR Extended, including electrical connections, panel fitment, ceiling installation, and final finishing components.
