DIY TUTORIAL:
SPRINTER 144
This guide is for installing the entire Adventure Wagon Interior kit in a 2007-present 144 Sprinter Van.
Any additional written build notes below will be the most up-to-date instructions and the video should be used as a baseline.
Note on Electrical Wiring
There are a few differences with electrical installation between the NCV3 (2007-2018) and VS30 (2019+) sprinters for electrical wiring and it will be noted below.
Information for Passenger Vans
The guide is targeted for Crew and Cargo version vans. If you have a Passenger van there will be some customization required in the ceiling for Air Conditioning units as well as leaving the rear wall panels off where windows are present. Please call one of our installers or our tech support team for more information on passenger installs.
Installation Tips
Installation can be done over four to six days but can vary significantly based on skill and experience. It helps to have two people for A-frame bracing, track and panel installation.

DISASSEMBLY & PREP
Step 2
ADDITIONAL TOOLS
Get set up for your DIY Sprinter van conversion with the tools you’ll need for installation, including sockets, Torx bits, panel removal tools, drills, rivet and Rivnut tools, drill bits, and more.
Step 3
Rear Headliner/WalL Removal
Prepare your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144 for a DIY van conversion by removing the factory interior, including the headliner, interior panels, pillars, lights, visors, and trim.
Step 4
Front Headliner Removal
Remove the factory headliner from a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144 or 170, including the A-pillars, B-pillars, visors, airbag covers, and headliner clips.

Door Panel Removal
Prep the rear and sliding doors of your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for Adventure Wagon interior panels by removing factory panels, drilling and deburring mounting holes, applying rust prevention, and installing Rivnuts.STRUCTURAL BASE

Ceiling Fan Installation
Follow the MaxxAir Deluxe roof fan installation process for a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144, from fan placement and cutting the roof opening to sealing the bezel, mounting the fan, and connecting the wiring.

Wall Bracer Installation
Install the Adventure Wagon A-Frame Wall Bracer system in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144, including positioning the bracers, drilling mounting points, installing Rivnuts and rivets, and preparing the structure for L-track and interior components.
The heart of our Interior System is our A-Frame wall bracers and ceiling struts. We have modified how the wall bracers get installed. Please see our additional notes below.

- If your ceiling braces (ribs) are not aligned with our centering tool, refer to the video guide below for how to measure and center your ceiling Speed Struts yourself.
- We are no longer using magnets to align the wall bracers. Instead, we use set screws included with your kit.
- If you've used self-tapping set screws to temporarily hold the wall track in place, please remove them once the track is fastened to ensure the L-Track lays flat against the wall bracer.
- Be careful when drilling vertical wall bracer holes that you do not accidentally clip the wiring harness. To avoid this, you can temporarily pull out the electrical harness.
- Do not install your upper wall Thinsulate insulation until after your wiring chase is installed to avoid leaving shavings in the insulation.

Step 8
Ceiling Bracer Installation
Install the Adventure Wagon Ceiling Bracer system in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144, from finding the van’s true center and positioning the bracers and L-track to drilling and riveting everything into place.

Electrical Harness
Wire your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144 with the Adventure Wagon wiring harness, including connecting to van power, routing the wiring, setting up the fuse block, and preparing connections for lights, fans, outlets, and other electrical components.

Track & Panel Installation
Finish out your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter interior with the Adventure Wagon panel system, including wall and ceiling panels, L-track, slide liner, door panels, electrical outlets, and B-pillar covers.
Step 15
Front Headliner
Reinstall the front headliner in your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 144 or 170, along with the factory light assembly, airbag trim, A-pillar covers, weather stripping, visors, and grab handles.
Step 16
Seat Installation
Finish the Sprinter interior installation by reinstalling the driver’s seat, replacing the seat base cover, aligning and securing the seat, and reconnecting the factory electrical connection.
