MOAB BED FOR Transits

Transit HR ExtendedTransit HR Long

This guide is for installing the MOAB (Mother of All Beds) height-adjustable camper van bed in 2015-current Ford Transit 148" wheelbase high-roof vans, including long and extended models. The MOAB Bed mounts to vertical L-Track, allowing you to adjust the bed height and reconfigure your van as your needs change.

Any additional written build notes below will be the most up-to-date instructions and the video should be used as a baseline.

Information on Install Kit

If your van already has, or will be getting, the Adventure Wagon Modular Interior System, no additional bed installation components are required. If you're installing the MOAB Bed on its own, you'll need the Bed Install Kit V2, which includes the A-Frame wall bracers and L-Track needed to securely mount the bed.

Confirm your indexing points before drilling. The A-Frame components use specific factory holes in the van as reference points. Double-check that you're aligned with the correct OEM holes before drilling.
An extra set of hands helps. Clamps can also help hold the A-Frame components securely in place while positioning and drilling.
Deburr and protect every drilled hole. Remove sharp edges and metal shavings, then apply the included rust preventative to all exposed metal before installing hardware.
Practice with the Rivnut tool first. If you're new to setting Rivnuts, test a few on scrap metal before working on the van so you can confirm the tool is adjusted correctly.
Keep the A-Frame tight against the van body. Apply firm pressure while setting Rivnuts and pop rivets so the bracers follow the contour of the van and sit flush.
Clear metal shavings as you work. Blow or remove debris from behind the A-Frame after drilling to help prevent future corrosion.
