Guided Build: Solo Nomad

A Solo Build Designed for Life on the Road

A modular camper van build designed for solo travelers spending extended time on the road—balancing comfort, organization, and the flexibility to adapt as daily life changes.

When you’re traveling solo full-time, your van becomes more than just transportation. It’s your kitchen, workspace, gear garage, bedroom, and place to reset after a long day outside.

This guided build is designed around that reality.

Built on a Sprinter 144 High Roof using the Adventure Wagon Interior System, this setup combines integrated power, climate control, modular storage, and a flexible living layout that still leaves room to move around and make the space your own.

Whether you’re working remotely, chasing weather, living out of the van for months at a time, or simply trying to stay out longer without constantly restocking or reorganizing, this build is designed to support everyday life on the road—not just occasional weekends away.

Why This Build Works

Designed Around Daily Life

Long-term solo travel changes what matters inside a van.

Instead of optimizing purely for sleeping or weekend trips, this build is designed to support the routines that happen every day: cooking meals, charging gear, staying organized, working remotely, recovering after long drives, and spending extended time comfortably inside the van.

Making the Most of a 144

The Traverse bed layout helps maximize usable floor space by orienting the sleeping platform across the width of the van.

That extra open space makes a huge difference in a solo setup. It creates more room for movement, gear storage, cooking, remote work, or simply making the van feel less cramped during longer stretches on the road.

Storage That Keeps Gear Accessible

When the van is your full-time living space, organization matters.

Dual Goat Lockers, Mule Bags, cubbies, and the Gear Garage system help create designated places for everyday essentials, outdoor gear, clothing, tools, and travel equipment—keeping the space functional without feeling overloaded.

A Kitchen Built for Longer Trips

The Switchback Galley creates a more livable day-to-day experience without permanently locking the layout into one configuration.

Its modular design allows components to be removed, repositioned, or expanded depending on how you travel, while the integrated fridge and water system make cooking and food storage realistic for longer stretches off-grid.

Power for Work, Travel, and Everything In Between

The EcoFlow 10kWh system with integrated solar supports a wider range of daily use without constant power management.

From laptops and camera gear to cooking appliances and climate systems, the setup is designed to handle the realities of modern travel and remote work while staying off-grid longer.

Comfort Across Changing Conditions

Extended travel means dealing with changing weather, elevations, and seasons.

With integrated heat, ventilation, and air conditioning, this build is designed to stay comfortable in a wider range of environments—making it easier to travel year-round and spend more time wherever you end up parked.

Modular From the Start

Even with integrated systems throughout the van, the foundation stays modular.

The Adventure Wagon Interior System allows the layout to evolve over time, whether that means adding new storage, adjusting the workspace, changing sleep configurations, or adapting the van for entirely new adventures later on.

Start With a Build That Can Evolve

This setup is designed for solo travelers who already know they want more capability built in from the start—without giving up the flexibility that makes modular van life work long-term.

It’s comfortable enough for extended travel, adaptable enough to evolve over time, and intentionally designed to support real life on the road.
