I've been able to reconfigure the layout as I've learned what works for my family and our adventures. Parents have a huge bed and the kids sleep close to the floor over lots of gear.

We've had a ton of fun taking the van on longer trips to Tahoe from the Bay Area. We packed in all the bikes we could want, had beds for 4, powered coolers to keep food fresh and clean. Prior to the van we were always struggling with space to fit everything and would compromise by only taking the most essential items. Now we could take everything comfortably and reconfigure the layout for activity oriented travel or for home base comfort. I also managed to work from "home" and take many meetings from the van while the family was out hiking or playing in a lake.
